A cover I made for Pritom Hasan’s synthwave song, just for the love of it. One line, sung softly like a wish, echoing down until it lands on a skull.

01The line
আমি তো চাই পৃথিবীর সবাই মরে যাক
“All I want is for everyone on earth to die.”
Said softly, it sounds almost sweet.
That’s the line everyone walks away humming, and Pritom sings it gently over a warm synth beat. The gap between the soft voice and the dark words is the whole song for me.
So the cover has no portrait and no scene. Just the line, big and white, the way it gets stuck in your head, and the skull it’s quietly wishing for.
02The echo
One line, twelve repeats.
Synthwave lives on delay: a note, then the same note again, a little quieter each time. I did that with the words. Under the white line sit twelve copies, each one a step lower, a new colour and a little more see-through, from 90% down to 10%, until the last ones sink into the skull.

Then it went on a sleeve.
A cover only feels real once it’s on something you could hold. I put it on a record sleeve with the vinyl half out, and gave the label the same skull.
